The Health Literacy focuses on helping children learn more about the ways to keep themselves and others healthy and safe. The three values of the Health Literacy focus on practicing self-control in the moment, forming healthy habits to live by with self-discipline, and becoming aware of your surroundings. Our younger children focus on learning how to control their actions and feelings. Children begin to learn about healthy foods, how to safely explore their environments using their senses, and ways to keep their bodies growing healthy, such as cleaning their teeth. Our older children continue exploring self-control in order to lead to the development of healthy habits to live by. While the concepts within the value of awareness are touched on with the younger children as they practice exploring their environments safely, older children begin focusing on how awareness applies within the community to keep themselves safe.
